Muslims in Nigeria today celebrate the feast of sacrifice titled ''Id-El-Kabir'' . Ths celebration according to the Islamic calender is set aside to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim(said holy) to follow Allah's command to sacrifice his son Ishmael. Alongside almighty Allah sent angel Jibril to stop Ibrahim from killing his son, replacing him with white ram instead. Ever since muslims each particular period in a year observe this aged-sacrificial ritual with slaughtering of animals including cows, rams, goats e.t.c

In regards the federal government of nigeria declared 24th and 25th of september public holiday to mark this feast, which fell as usual on the 10th Dhul-Hyjah- coinciding with the climbing of Mount Arafat, to mark the end of this year's holy pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Weeping Virgin Mary Statue In Tarshiha, Israel, Draws Hundreds To See 'Miracle'

Hundreds of people have flocked to a small town in northern Israel to view a statue of the Virgin Mary that residents say "weeps" oil. Members of a Christian family from Tarshiha, near the Lebanon border, say they have witnessed a miracle in their living room. Osama Khoury said Tuesday that his wife Amira found the statue "covered with oil" recently. Amira said the statue "spoke to her" and told her not to be afraid.
