And I say projections, not predictions. Prediction is what the herd of religious pastors, especially of pentecostal hue do in Nigeria particularly at this time of ushering a new year in. I have never stopped  to be baffled by it all, those hoodwinking balderdash they call predictions. And I'm more angrily perplexed at those(and they are in the millions) who lend their ears, let alone of hearts, to them.

I don't believe in any of them. Indeed I don't even bother to listen or read to them both the message and the messenger. It's nothing more than a half- clever juggling of probabilities, no more than the pool gambling permutations, two from five,or any three from ten! The only difference is  whereas in the pool game you lose your money if you don't make the minimum number permed, these God-forsaking so-and-so don't loose anything, not money no face, by not making any number. Their blinded followers ensure that. If just one more of them comes close enough to the periphery of the prediction, they jump to the roof top to proclaim the holiness of their religious leaders using this one close enough case as proof- positive.

An example! Say one of them pastors or marabouts 'predicts' that president jonathan..

The military described a statement issued by the Jama'atul Nasril Islam, JNI, alleging extra-judicial killing of Muslims as 'inflammatory.'The JNI had issued a statement on Monday accusing the military of carrying out attacks targeted at unharmed Muslims. The JNI is a coalition of Islamic organisations in Nigeria and is headed by the Sultan of Sokoto, Saad Abubakar. In its response, the Director of Defence Information, Chris Olukolade, said in a statement that JNI's statement was false and was meant to cause disaffection within the military. Mr. Olukolade said although the military would not join issues with the reputable religious group, it would, however, set the records straight."The Nigerian military remains non-partisan, non-sectarian and will continue to be the symbol of patriotism and a unifying factor in the face of threats to national s...
